Dr. Michael Stagner
Dr. Stagner is a board-certified ophthalmologist with 26 years’ experience in private practice. He has extensive experience in both the medical and surgical aspects of ophthalmology, having performed approximately 10,000 cataract surgeries, numerous other ophthalmic surgeries including glaucoma and strabismus, medical management of glaucoma and retinal problems, and all aspects of medical ophthalmology. In addition, he has provided optometric care and optical services throughout his career. During his practice life, he has seen all age groups from small children to the elderly. He has excellent patient interaction skills and enjoys patient education.
Dr. Stagner grew up in Detroit, Michigan then lived in the western United States for 40 years before moving to New York City following the death of his wife and meeting a woman from New York City whom he eventually married. He has traveled extensively, and enjoys outdoor activities such as mountaineering, backpacking and river rafting.
