Louis S. Angioletti, MD

Dr. Louis S. Angioletti is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in Vitreoretinal Surgery and in particular, macular disease.  He is an expert in the care of Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Intraocular Lens Complications as well as Macular Hole and Macular Pucker Surgery.  He is a Senior Attending Surgeon at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology of the Carl Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai. 

Dr. Angioletti has authored a textbook chapter on Vitreoretinal Surgery and has contributed to professional journal articals on the subject of surgical retina. During his tenure as an associate clinical professor, Dr. Angioletti has presented a paper as well as myriad posters at the annual ARVO (the Association for Research in Vision and Ophtalmology) meetings on the topic of retinal imagining.  Dr. Angioletti has assisted in the training of Ophthalmology Residents and Retina Fellows at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary since 1992. He has served as Retina Liason to the Operating Room Committee since 2007 and on the Medical Board since 2015.  He was elected Chairman of the Medical Board in May of 2015.
