Today’s most advanced technology for accurate diagnoses and better results

Your eyes are sophisticated organs. Over the years, ophthalmic medicine has become equally sophisticated, using amazing new technologies, including lasers, and providing benefits once only dreamed about. Our ophthalmologists and optometrists use the latest diagnostic technologies and electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure optimal care.

Caring for eye disease

Glaucoma – A disease in which the optic nerve is damaged, leading to progressive, irreversible vision loss. It is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. Glaucoma is often called “the silent thief of sight” because there are often no symptoms until severe vision loss has occurred. With early detection and treatment, we can prevent severe vision loss.

Retinal Disease – Diabetic retinopathy, detached retina and macular degeneration are just a few of the most common retinal diseases we treat. One of the leading causes of blindness in the United States, diabetic retinopathy, occurs when high levels of sugar in the blood cause damage to retinal blood vessels. The damaged vessels can leak and cause sudden and severe vision loss. It is extremely important for diabetics to have yearly eye exams. Other retinal diseases include macular holes and retinal tears.

Pediatric Eye Problems – In addition to common eye problems such as conjunctivitis, styes and eye trauma, we are world leaders in the treatment of amblyopia and strabismus. Often associated with “lazy eye,” or amblyopia, strabismus is also referred to as “squint.” It is actually two eyes that appear to be aimed in different directions with different degrees of muscle control, such as crossed or wandering eyes.

Adult Strabismus – Strabismus can often be treated with eyeglasses, prisms or eye muscle exercises. If surgical correction is needed, it will be performed by one of the world’s leading authorities on pediatric and adult strabismus correction.

Cataracts – Modern cataract surgery is an efficient, painless procedure with short recovery time in most cases. It gives patients an opportunity to have much better vision than they’ve had in years. During cataract surgery, we replace the cloudy natural lens (cataract) with a clear artificial lens that remains for the rest of your life. During your visit, we perform sophisticated testing to determine which replacement lens will work best for you.
